Rice Pudding

In a saucepan, mix the rice with cinnamon, clove, and anise, soaking the mixture.

Add water, salt, and boil for a few minutes.

Remove the spices, add milk, sugar, and raisins, cooking over low heat.

Once thickened, add butter, cool, and serve with grated nutmeg.

Ingredients

2 cups of White rice

1 cup of Sugar

2 Cinnamon sticks

6 Cloves

1 Star anise (optional)

1 can of Canned evaporated milk

6 cups of Warm water

¼ cup of Raisins

2 tablespoons of Butter

1 teaspoon of Salt

Preparation

Step 1 : In a large saucepan, place the rice along with cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and 2 cups of water, letting the mixture soak for at least one hour.

Step 2 : Then, add 4 more cups of water, salt, and bring the saucepan to a boil for 5 minutes.

Step 3 : Remove the cinnamon, cloves, and star anise.

Step 4 : Reduce the heat and stir in the evaporated milk, sugar, and raisins.

Step 5 : Cook over low heat for 10 minutes or until the mixture thickens.

Step 6 : Remove from heat, add the butter, cover, and let cool.

Step 7 : Finally, serve the rice with a sprinkle of nutmeg and cinnamon.
