Ingredients

1 kilogram of Cassava

1 kilogram of Ground Beef

1 Red onion, diced

1 Cuban chili pepper, diced

1 Bay leaf

1 teaspoon of Oregano

1 teaspoon of Cumin

2 cups of Tomato sauce

300 grams of Mozzarella cheese

2 tablespoons of Oil

1 pinch of Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1 : The cassava is peeled and cut into pieces, then cooked in salted water until soft.

Step 2 : Once ready, remove from heat and let cool.

Step 3 : In a bowl, prepare a purée with the cassava and add butter to make it creamy.

Step 4 : In a hot skillet, sauté the meat for about 3 minutes.

Step 5 : Then add the onion and chili pepper, seasoning with salt, pepper, oregano, and cumin.

Step 6 : Add the tomato sauce and chopped basil, letting it cook on low heat for about 15 minutes until the sauce reaches the right consistency.

Step 7 : In a baking dish, place a layer of cassava purée at the bottom, followed by a layer of meat and a layer of sliced mozzarella cheese.

Step 8 : Repeat this process and finish with a layer of cheese.

Step 9 : Bake for approximately 35 minutes until the crust is golden.
