Ingredients

250 grams of Wheat flour

2 tablespoons of Sugar

200 grams of Shredded beef or chicken

100 grams of Tomato puree

½ Finely chopped onion

3 Crushed garlic

75 grams of Grated cheese

2 tablespoons of Lard

75 milliliters of Warm water

1 cup of Oil

½ teaspoon of Ground pepper

1 teaspoon of Salt

Preparation

Step 1 : In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, lard, water, sugar, and salt, kneading until a smooth and homogeneous dough is achieved.

Step 2 : Reserve the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Step 3 : For the filling, heat a pan with shredded beef or chicken, tomato puree, onion, and garlic, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste, and cook over medium heat for a few minutes.

Step 4 : Set aside the filling.

Step 5 : Roll out the dough on a flat surface and cut out 10 cm diameter circles.

Step 6 : Place filling in the center of each circle, moisten the edges with a little water, and fold to seal the turnovers.

Step 7 : Use a fork to seal the edges.

Step 8 : Fry the turnovers in hot oil until golden, placing them on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Step 9 : Serve the turnovers accompanied by salsa.
